The Benefits of E-Scooters

The Benefits of E-Scooters

Electric scooters are light, practical, easy to drive, and in some cases, they can get you going faster than a car.

Studies have shown that electric scooters can get you to your destination 20% faster than regular bicycles. While walking and biking can burn more calories and help you lose weight, riding an e-scooter is still a great low-impact activity that will allow you to burn more calories than usual.

Surprisingly, motorcyclists may get some health benefits from riding electric scooters. Electric scooters are known for their time, cost and environmental benefits, but a rarely mentioned benefit of an e-scooter is its impact on the health of motorcyclists.

Since most disabled people cannot walk and public transportation is inconvenient, most disabled people choose electric scooters because of its convenience and health. Most disabled people prefer to use a scooter instead of a bicycle because they don't get tired of pedaling. For die-hard car enthusiasts, there may be no way to convert them into electric scooters, and if you live in a small country town, it's nearly impossible to get around without a car.

If owning a car is inconvenient because you only have access to on-street parking or you live near a city where driving is faster than driving, an electric scooter can be a great way to commute. For those who care about the environment, electric scooters can be used as it is an environmentally friendly and efficient means of transportation. You can simply use an electric scooter to go anywhere, even a store a few blocks away.

Many of them are foldable, which means you can easily put them in the trunk of your car or take them on public transport. Over 85 have proven to be extremely popular and environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional modes of transport; A survey of electric scooter users in Chicago found that CO2 emissions were reduced by almost 120 tons due to reduced use of services (42%) and driving (23%). One study estimates that scooters are more than 1,000% more efficient per mile than medium combustion vehicles, based on the energy required to propel them.

SustainAbility evaluated nine modes of urban transport under the SustainAbility Framework for Sustainable Mobility, finding that e-scooters offer cities the greatest social and environmental benefits. The benchmarks used to rank various solutions, including cars, buses, trains, scooters and bicycles, cover sustainability, inclusiveness, efficiency and safety.

Ujet and SustainAbility research note that policy incentives at city, national and European levels need to be extended beyond electric vehicles to highlight the benefits of electric scooters and other low-impact transport options to improve urban living conditions and achieve climate goals. Through effective cost-benefit analysis of electric scooters, cities will be able to appropriately implement the infrastructure to support the zero-emission scooter fleet in cities and provide motorcyclists with a safe, efficient and extravagant mode of transport.
